PROJECT SCOPE

The new 647-student Marshall Elementary School was built to the latest Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) 21st Century Design specifications.  The school was built on the 26.86-acre site of a 600-student capacity facility that was demolished in July 2015.

As the Mechanical Construction Manager, Wiegmann was the single point of contact to the general contractor for mechanical systems.  Our role included coordinating, procuring equipment and installing HVAC systems at the new school.  The school was furnished with a Johnson Controls BMS.  The new HVAC system features water source heat pumps and a dedicated outdoor air system (DOAS).

This project was part of a major DoDEA construction and renovation program to replace or renovate more than 70 percent of its 194 schools to meet the new specifications. The 21st Century Design specifications guide the development of schools that are flexible, adaptable and facilitate innovative instruction delivery.
