This week marks Construction Safety Week 2026, and the industry theme says it all: All In Together. Built on three pillars—Recognize, Respond, and Respect—this year’s theme reminds us that safety isn’t a solo act. It takes every person on every jobsite committing to the same standard.
Research also shows that construction workers identify only 45% of hazards during pre-task planning—meaning more than half of jobsite dangers go unrecognized before work begins. Those numbers underscore why more awareness is needed and why safety is more than a slogan for our team.
Here’s how we’re focusing our attention this week at Wiegmann Associates.
1. Safety Starts With You
Your safety choices matter—every task, every day. Before you pick up a tool, climb a ladder, or step onto a lift, pause, think and act safely. The decisions you make don’t just protect you; they protect the person working next to you. This year’s “Recognize” pillar reminds us that every individual action has the potential to strengthens the safety culture around us.
2. Office Safety Awareness
Safety isn’t limited to the jobsite. In our offices and shops, everyday potential hazards deserve the same attention. Ergonomic posture, safe lifting techniques and clutter-free desks all prevent injuries that can lead to pulled muscles or repetitive stress injuries. Take a few minutes today to scan your workspace and make sure it is ergonomic and obstacle free.
3. Speak Up for Safety
See something unsafe? Say something. This is what the second pillar — “Respond” — in the National Construction Week means in action. Reporting hazards and near-misses isn’t just encouraged at Wiegmann Associates—it’s expected. Every report you make helps us close a potential hazard-recognition gap and prevent the next incident. No concern is too small and every concern voiced is welcomed.
4. Mental & Emotional Well-Being
Safety includes mental health. The third pillar — “Respect” — calls on us to respect ourselves and each other by acknowledging that stress, fatigue and emotional strain affect focus and decision-making on the job. Take your breaks. Manage your stress. Check in with a coworker you are concerned about. Looking out for each other is what this years’ theme means. We are “All In Together.”
5. Safety Is a Team Effort
We’re safer together. Over 900 companies and 2.7 million workers are participating in Construction Safety Week nationwide. Our industry is proving that a collective commitment to safety culture works. Your commitment to safety at Wiegmann Associates has earned us respected EMR ratings and almost 25 years with ZERO lost-time injuries in our shop, warehouse and delivery.
Let’s continue to Recognize, Respond and Respect safety on every project and at each work setting all year long.
