Proper Brands Facility Expansion

Project Scope

Wiegmann Associates was the Mechanical Engineer of Record and Installing Mechanical Contractor for the 14,600sf expansion of St. Louis-based Proper Brands’ new state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation facility. The goal was to expand the client’s current facilities to increase their growing capabilities and to efficiently manufacture product once harvested. Wiegmann was tasked with designing a cost effective system that was able to maintain temperature and humidity requirements and met local and state guidelines.

Wiegmann achieved the client’s goals by designing, furnishing, and installing the HVAC equipment for the entire facility including a new office area, two new grow rooms and a manufacturing area. The office and manufacturing area are served by DX rooftop units while the grow rooms are served by high efficient rooftop units with dehumidification capabilities. We also installed CO2 piping for the grow room CO2 enrichment and manufacturing needs as well as compressed air piping.

Proper Brands is one of the first cannabis cultivators in Missouri to receive commencement for growing and manufacturing of medicinal marijuana by the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
