PROJECT SCOPE

BiRite Foodservice Distributors is the 21st largest foodservice distributor in the nation, stocking more than 14,000 items for distribution to independent restaurants, caterers, universities, hotels and country clubs.

The BiRite project included new refrigeration equipment for a 38F refrigerated dock and 34F refrigerated coolers. We provided a solution for converting an existing cooler into a -20F Freezer and -10F freezer. We also reused evaporators and installed new controls to attain required temperatures throughout the space.

Project challenges involved working within the existing facility. The wood structure made hanging equipment more complex.  We also had to brace equipment for earthquake loads. The project was compliant with California seismic and energy codes.
